ONE day as I and my friend (from another country) were waiting for our metro car to leave the station, a beggar with no legs rolled toward us in a wheelchair. Looking up into our faces, he asked us to take pity on him. Without looking him in the eye, I gave him twice as much as I usually give beggars, but my face was cold and judgmental. My friend rummaged in her purse for a long time. In the end she poured all her change into his palm, indicating with hand movements that this was all she had. The man seemed to understand. He started pointing to a ring on one of her fingers. Smiling, he gestured that he had recognized the Christian symbol on it.

She smiled back at him. Then he took her hand and began to kiss the ring and her hand. He gestured for her to kiss him on the cheek. With the whole metro car watching, my friend bent over and kissed the beggar on his dirty cheek, which was wet with tears. They spent some time in an embrace. Then he moved farther down the car.

This reminded me of what the apostle Peter said–and did–as recorded in our reading for today. I had given the beggar more money, but my friend had given him love and compassion.

What is hope to you?

For me hope means having a positive mindset that enables a person to do anything that he can to achieve his goals.

What do you hope for?

As a person I want to be the best person that I can be. As a student I hope to be a lawyer some day As a youth, I want to promote youth empowerment among nations and encourage more youth to participate in more youthful activities.
What can you do to make that hope come true?

As a student – i will study THAT hard. (get high grades, graduating on time) As a youth, I will work at becoming a better citizen of the country and of course of the world.
Every youth has to  realize that if they don’t have hope, it’s going to be hard for them to achieve anything. When we don’t have hope we neglect the fact that we can do something, that we don’t have to give up. That we can make a change in society.

朋友问我，你的希望是什么？我愣了一下，对了，我的希望是什么？这问题嘛，好像都没想过。。。

2. 你的希望是什么？

这看来简单的问题，其实一点也不简单。我不断的思考。我提起笔，尝试用各种“漂亮”的言语来谈谈希望这课题。做装，不真实，决定把那份稿自我投篮。希望世界和平，希望人人有饭吃，我当然如此希望，每个人都会如此希望。但说实在，那好像离我太远了，也太伟大了，抓不着，没有实际感。所以，我要回到本身，我要静下来好好想一想。。。。

我希望世界末日不要那么快到来。如果真的要来，我希望所有生命在一秒的时间内全然消失。那样的话，就不会有劫后余生的场面，也不会出现像好莱坞电影描述那样，活下来的人变了质，不知是人还是兽，恐怖

身为女儿，我希望父母身体健康，但更希望自己身体健康，不要有“坏事”发 生，不要欠人钱财，无风无险，好让爸爸妈妈心安。未能给他们大洋房大车子。我希望我的这个希望能实现。我同时也是姐姐的妹妹，两个弟弟的姐姐，我希望他们 都好好的生活，我希望我能力范围内能给的我都会给，我希望两个可爱的侄女快高长大。这样的希望太平庸吧。平庸但真心，无论是面对耶稣，观音娘娘，还是我婆 婆的墓，我都会如此祷告，如此希望。

对自己，不是希望，而是要求。我要求自己坚守原则，把每一件事情认真地做好。新的一年要开始了，我为自己定下了目标。我要加把劲，把身上的懒虫拔掉，坚持，坚持，坚持，完成目标。也要向春上村树学习，每天跑步半小时！！

希望每个人都有希望。

Hope is found in something furry, friendly, soft and familiar.

What do you hope for?

To always have enough sugar for tea and teddy; to have company for tea.

Always make a shopping list. Bring an umbrella. It might rain.

Well, it’s looking ahead into the future and wanting that to come true.

Well I can read the Bible everyday and pray and obey.
